Location, Schedule, and Fees

Office Location
My street address is:  180 Nickerson Street, Suite 303.

My office is located in a three-story office building close to the south end of the Fremont Bridge, at the foot of Queen Anne hill.  The building is one of four nearly identical buildings that sit between Nickerson Street and the Ship Canal.  The building has an elevator, and is wheelchair-accessible. Suite 303 is on the third floor.

Canal view from Deborah Woolley's OfficeI am in a three-office suite with a comfortable waiting room.  My office has large windows overlooking the canal.

Getting there: Free parking is available in the lot surrounding the building (though spots can be hard to find at certain times of day) as well as along Nickerson Street.  Several bus routes run along Nickerson, and the building is a short walk from buses that run along Dexter and Westlake, as well as from downtown Fremont.  The bike routes along Westlake and Dexter are close by; however, there are no bike racks at the building yet.

Office Hours and Schedule
I see clients during the following hours:

  • Mondays, noon to 8 p.m.
  • Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5  p.m.
  • Fridays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Nearly all my clients have a regular day and time that is reserved for them.   I keep a few appointment slots open for clients who do not need or want a regular appointment time.  And regardless of how full my practice is, if you are a former client and need to come in for a session, I will find time for you.

Most clients come every week, as that provides the best support, the fastest progress on their therapy goals, and is therefore the most efficient use of their investment of time and financial resources.  However, some clients can only come every other week due to work and/or personal responsibilities, and I am happy to accommodate them as the schedule allows.  Typically, as clients are nearing the end of their work with me, we space out the sessions to every other week and then to once a month.

I take time out of my usual work schedule two or times a year for continuing education and additional training.  Approximately once every three months, I go away for a week-long meditation retreat, and over the course of the year I take three to four weeks off (not all at once) for personal vacation and to be with family.  I let clients know about these times well in advance. During my absences, my practice is covered by other therapists whom I trust, and I remain accessible my phone wherever possible.

Fees and Payment
My regular fee (2010) is $125 per 50-minute session and $175 per 80-minute session.  For clients whose financial circumstances make it difficult to afford this fee, I offer a reduced fee based on income.  As a matter of policy, I reserve 25% of my appointment slots for reduced-fee clients.

If a client becomes unemployed or loses her/his insurance coverage, I will adjust the fee to a level that the client can afford, so that therapy can continue.  I am committed to continuing to work with you until you have achieved your treatment goals and feel ready to be “on your own.”

I am a preferred provider with Uniform Medical, Aetna, and First Choice.  When a client is insured with one of these companies, I bill the insurer directly and the client pays me the co-payment specified by the insurer.  With other insurers where I am an out-of-network provider, the client pays me our agreed-upon fee, I provide a receipt for payment, and the client submits my receipt and a claim form to the insurance company.

If you want to use your health insurance to cover our sessions, you should be aware that I will have to give you a diagnosis, and your insurance company has the right to inspect your medical record. (For more details on this issue, see Notice of Privacy Practices.) In order to ensure maximum protection of their privacy, some clients choose not to use their insurance.
